You control the rights of all the portals you sell. If you
sell a portal to a city director that later defaults on you,
you still main control of the portal. You are free to let it
default back to the company if you choose, or you can resell
it or use it for yourself.
As the portals age and develop more traffic their value increases
considerably. Consider what Om Malik has written in Business 2.0
magazine December, 2005
Quote Om Malik:
"Based on recent high-profile Web content deals, the value of a
unique monthly website visitor currently hovers around $38 (the
average purchase price per unique user of acquisitions during
the past year). As a result, those who built popular websites
over the last few years look prescient: They "bought" eyeballs
when the market placed little value on them--making daily blog
posts or encouraging others to upload text and photos--and can
now sell their traffic at a markup."
Based on that quote from Om Malik if your portal has developed
10,000 unique monthly visitors it now has a value of $380,000.
How much would you rent a $380,000 house for?
To be more accurate, you would want to consider how much that
traffic is worth. With the ratio we currently have if your
portal develops 10,000 unique monthly visitors it will have
200,000 page views. If you calculate that at 10 cents per
visit, that portal is worth $1,000 per month. If you calculate
the page views as worth $10 per thousand that portal is worth
$2,000 per month.
So it could be very profitable to retain control of portals
that have gone into default. The next buyer may pay you more
money.
(See why I say it is ok to let the portal default back to P.E.E.L. Inc.?)

Sales is a numbers game! Pick Your Numbers!
Please note that some of our portal directors with experience in sales get 25% of
the business owners they give a presentation to purchase a premium listing. If you
are new to sales the industry standard is normally 10%. This in no way guarantees
you will have these percentages, but some of our directors report 25% closing ratio
once a business owner has been given a full presentation.
